My Personal Review of Globe Wimax

Before I go to my full review of Globe Wimax I’m going to give you a little bit info about Wimax, what is Wimax? Wimax or Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access is the latest technology used for telecommunication purposes such as wireless internet, wirelss mobile or internet on the go. Wimax has been here on the Philippines for some time now and one of the leading telecommunication company that introduced Wimax is Globe Telecommunication.

They have a wide array of plan that suits your needs for instance 512mbps for php799 and 1mbps for php999 at first I was hesitant of getting Globe Wimax because of the not so good opinions and reviews I saw on the internet, but for the thirst that I need to quench I took the risk of trying it, so I went to Globe’s wireless centre and fill out their form and after 3days someone knocked at our door and it was Globe’s technical team they’re ready to install my Globe Wimax, they also installed an antennae at our rooftop they said it’s for boosting my Wimax signal.

After the installation I was satisfied, I tried it and I was getting my desired speed, after few days my speed is getting slow so I went to speedtest.net to know why, I was surprised that my download speed is only 0.50mbps and my upload speed is only 0.30mbps and my data plan is 1mbps, I was not getting the plan I paid for, so I thought that I didn’t position my CPE Modem properly or it was not getting sufficient signal strength so I attached the external

antennae hoping that it could boost my internet speed and only to find out that it was not even helping , still I only got 0.60 download speed so I detached the antennae, instead I place the CPE modem at the top of our window, I’m surprised my download speed is now 1mbps I’m so happy until my internet connection said the  “connection has timed out”, I pinged  google and only to find out that the connection keeps on stopping every few seconds that’s not good because a lot of data is interrupted and it means that Globe’s Wimax connection is not stable.

Globe Wimax
I didn’t bother o calling their tech support because I’ve seen a lot of comments at their tech support that their service is not good, there’s even one comment that I’ve read that I laughed out so loud “globe’s tech support doesn’t know what they are doing” that’s why I didn’t bother to call and besides I hate calling to someone that doesn’t know what he or she is talking. Anyways my overall rate and review for Globe Wimax in the scale from 1 to 10 I will give only 7%. Here are some points to consider if you want to get Globe’s Wimax:
  1. Unstable internet connection
  2. Useless antennae
  3. You don’t get your subscribed plan
  4. Slow internet connection when raining
  5. Connection always in disconnecting every few seconds
And here are some points to consider if you already have Globe’s Wimax
  1. Always put your CPE modem close to your widow
  2. Always  place your CPE modem at a high position like at the top of your cabinet
I hope that this post might have helped you in deciding to avail of Globe Wimax.
